In October of 2022, I lost my best friend in the world. His name was Gerry and we'd been close for more than 40 years. I was told by another friend whom knew him that funeral arrangements were being made, only to learn that Gerry's body had been taken to the Medical Examiner's Office in Chicago. He was listed as Unclaimed...I was heartbroken. It took a while, but with the help of someone very close to me I was able to have my friend's body moved to a wonderful, family-owned cremation facility. When Gerry's relatives were finally located they allowed me to have half of his cremains. I received them in what's known as a temporary, black, hard-plastic urn. These urns will last forever if you choose to keep the cremains inside of them. As I sat holding the box and looking at all of the lovely urns on display within the facility's office, I realized that I couldn't afford any of them...not even the least expensive ones offered for sale. Sadly, the urns were hundreds of dollars. I feel that temporary urns look the way they do in order to entice you to purchase something beautiful for the one whom you cherish. Gerry had been a Drama/Theater teacher for 4 decades; he adored the musical, West Side Story. I decided that I'd do something special with his ordinary, temporary urn. The piece took me 10-14 days to complete! I think it looks AMAZING. You can't even tell that it's the same container which I'd been given. Each vessel is a unique and signed piece of funeral art depicting an iconic film, television comedy, sitcom, cartoon, actor, or performer. I wanted to create something beautiful for families during an extremely difficult time in their lives. Let's discuss what you'd like for your beloved! Instead of charging a dollar amount for the urns I'm accepting a donation. If you live in the state of Illinois and would prefer receiving the urn in person that will be fine! If you live out of state I will ship the urn free of charge. I pair all urns with a battery-operated pushlight with remote control to enhance its beauty, along with a small battery-powered candle which flickers! The candle sits in front of the urn or atop it, and means that your special person is loved and missed. The urns also have small, felt button-pads attached to their bottoms for the protection of your table, shelf, or designated place of honor. Please use the contact form to send an email. If you don't receive a response in 24 hours, then please call or text: (773)512-6504 and ask for Myra Kathryn.
Thank you for showing interest in my work! You don't need to pay a small fortune to have something pretty and unique for your loved one! Again, it takes 10-14 days to create an urn. Examples of my work are shown below. The container dimensions are: 8.25 x 6.5 x 4.5. I purchase the temporary urns and use them as a blank canvas. The Front, Back, Sides, Top, and Bottom are all different. I reiterate the fact that a specific monetary amount will never be requested; I insist upon donations to make the funeral box art affordable for ALL! This is done from my heart in memory of the best friend I ever had, Gerry. I'm deeply sorry for your loss😢.
